Low-cost carrier SpiceJet has announced the resumption of flight operations to Pakyong airport in Sikkim from both Kolkata and Delhi, alongside new routes to Ayodhya.
Enhanced Connectivity Ahead of Peak Travel Season
The SpiceJet, a well-known low-cost air carrier in India, has progressed remarkably and provided numerous connections for the ever-growing demand for air travel. The airline has finally resumed flights to Pakyong Airport in Sikkim and launched Hydrabad-Ayodhya, non-stop flights.
Debasish Maharshi, CEO of SpiceJet, boosted himself on this upgraded connectivity, especially in the way Ayodhya and Paykong will benefit, as he put it: “We are content to launch operations in Ayodhya and Pakyong ahead of the imminent peak season.

Resumption of Flights to Pakyong Airport
Flight services to Pakyong Airport resumed on 31st March to meet the anticipated increase in tourist arrivals during the summer season. Daily flights from Kolkata and Delhi aim to provide convenient travel options for travellers visiting the picturesque Himalayan state of Sikkim.
Flight Schedule and Operations
Kolkata-Pakyong flight is available daily, departing at 8:05 am and reaching Pakyong at 9:35 am. The return leg takes off from Pakyong at 10:30 am, reaching Kolkata at 12:10 pm.
Similarly, the Delhi-Pakyong route operates five days a week, with flights departing Delhi at 9:45 am and landing at Pakyong at 12:40 pm. The return flight from Pakyong to Delhi departs at 1:10 pm and reaches Delhi at 4:10 pm.

Flights Operating at Full Capacity
The airport manager of Pakyong Airport BT Pote announced at the press conference by revealing that all flights have been operating at full capacity there. He gave a briefing on the ability and preparedness of the airport to tackle flights even during the rainy season. He acknowledged weather is not the challenge compared to the infrastructure office he said.
Past Operational Challenges
Flight services at Pakyong Airport were suspended about 6 months ago due to operational issues, including visibility concerns associated with the airport’s tabletop runway. Despite irregular services in the past, SpiceJet remains committed to providing frequent and reliable air connectivity in this beautiful region
