A day after Vistara decided to cut its daily flight schedule temporarily, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) stepped in and said it was monitoring the situation over the Vistara flight disruption. In the latest update, MoCA sought a detailed report from the airline regarding flight cancellations and major delays.

Concerns over Flight Operations

The aviation ministry also asked Vistara about steps taken to deal with the inconvenience caused to passengers, as it had cancelled or delayed more than 100 flights in the last week. The ministry stressed that flight operations are managed by the airlines themselves but must follow DGCA norms to minimize problems for passengers.

Pilot Protest and Revised Salary Structure

Vistara pilots are calling for a collective protest against the revised pay structure ahead of the airline’s merger with Air India. Pilots have expressed dissatisfaction with the new contracts and warned that refusing to sign them could lead to exclusion from the merger.

Vistara’s Response and Measures Taken

Vistara acknowledged the inconvenience caused to customers and said its teams are working to minimize the inconvenience. To deal with the situation, the airline has temporarily reduced its flight operations and deployed larger aircraft on select routes. Additionally, they are offering alternative flight options or refunds to affected customers.

Many passengers confessed to being victims of last-minute flight cancellations and pushbacks, which unavoidably necessitated a search for another means of transportation and probably cost them a lot more than the planned budget
